Drying of the pieces can be just as important as manufacturing them: having a drying area for concrete pieces is essential in any factory.
How to manufacture quality concrete?
A drier mix works better in the machines, but during curing the mix needs water to react and reach its maximum strength. Temperature- and humidity-controlled curing can save between 5% and 10% of cement, reducing block costs.
How should curing be done?
Curing should take place in an enclosed chamber, in a location controlled for humidity and temperature, avoiding airflow and sun exposure. The usual requirements are:
- Temperature: around 30 °C.
- Humidity: no more than 80%.
- Built-in temperature and humidity gauges.
- Forced air movement.
- Water application through spraying.
