The challenge
In 2014, a precast concrete manufacturer in the Urals region (Russia) commissioned Rometa to design and install a completely new production line, in a 1,100 m² plant, to manufacture 50 x 50 x 6 cm concrete slabs.
The project involved two requirements that went beyond manufacturing itself:
Palletizing optimized for rail transport. The client distributes its production by train, so it needed packages with exact dimensions that would make the best use of wagon space.
Curbs manufactured flat and palletized vertically. The same line also had to produce curbs, manufactured in a flat position but palletized in a vertical position.
The Rometa solution
Rometa's technical office developed a custom solution on two fronts: the molding and curing process, and the palletizing engineering.
Molding and curing
Rometa 2030 machine.Configuration based on the 2030 model, sized to achieve the production rate requested by the customer.
100% automatic circuit.Fully automated production circuit integrated with a multi-fork cart.
Chamber curing.Curing chambers equipped with radiant flooring and atomized water supply, maintaining high and constant humidity throughout the entire process, with insulating doors every 3 tunnels.
Custom palletizing
Triple clamp system with slab rotation.Combines horizontal and vertical positions within the same package to achieve exactly the dimensions required for rail transport.
Special lifting system.Developed for handling and positioning the slabs.
Tilting clamp for curbs.Turns the pieces from flat to vertical position before palletizing.
The result
A new installation, custom-designed to meet the demands of rail transport and the extreme climate of the Urals, with a production capacity of 180 m² per hour. The project combines specific engineering design with the ease of use and maintenance that characterizes Rometa equipment.
